SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Seleukos I Nikator, 312-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 17.19 g, 4 h), Ekbatana, circa 295-281. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ΣEΛEYKOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram above horizontal Seleukid anchor above forepart of horse grazing left; below throne, monogram. ESM 487. SC 204.3. An attractive coin of excellent style. The reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, about extremely fine.
